Water is SO important to our bodies. I cannot tell you how many times I have sat in with clients and ask them how much water they consume during a day and their response is always, ummmm I don't know, like 3 glasses maybe?
You have got to be KIDDING ME! Water is your bodies principal component and makes up 60% of your body weight! That being said, every system in your body depends on water so if you aren;t drinking enough, your system are able to flush, grow, dehydrate, carry nutrients, among many other things!
General Rule of thumb: You body needs more water than you think.
This general rule of thumb applies to you not doing any strenuous physical activity, therefore you need even more than that if you are exercising.
Tips and Tricks:
- Never get to thirst- that means you're already headed to dehydration
- Carry a bottle everywhere you go- no excuses as you will be prepared
- Have a bigger bottle than normal- it's a mind game. the bigger the bottle, the more you will drink
- Don't like the "taste"?- add lemons, cucumbers, frozen fruit and create your own flavoured water
