Water is SO important to our bodies. I cannot tell you how many times I have sat in with clients and ask them how much water they consume during a day and their response is always, ummmm I don't know, like 3 glasses maybe?

You have got to be KIDDING ME! Water is your bodies principal component and makes up 60% of your body weight! That being said, every system in your body depends on water so if you aren;t drinking enough, your system are able to flush, grow, dehydrate, carry nutrients, among many other things!

General Rule of thumb: You body needs more water than you think.

Women: 2-3L

Men: 3-4L

This general rule of thumb applies to you not doing any strenuous physical activity, therefore you need even more than that if you are exercising.

Tips and Tricks:

  • Never get to thirst- that means you're already headed to dehydration
  • Carry a bottle everywhere you go- no excuses as you will be prepared
  • Have a bigger bottle than normal- it's a mind game. the bigger the bottle, the more you will drink
  • Don't like the "taste"?- add lemons, cucumbers, frozen fruit and create your own flavoured water
